Welcome to my ‘ponderings’, where I desire to share words of wisdom and observations that
may spark new thoughts or provide empathy. I create these based on the deepest thoughts I’ve
had over the past week, usually stemming from conversations I’ve had. Therefore, I believe they
are timely and relevant for everyone. Thank you for allowing me back into your life.
Last week, I discussed social media and how exhausting it can be to create content and
constantly monitor interactions. I shared how social media can become a lonely hustle, a place
for fleeting moments of connection.
I’m aware that many of us, often unknowingly, behave like ‘lone wolves’ who wake up, work, and go to sleep solely focused on our own business needs and how we can solve them alone. Perhaps you’ve never experienced the advice or support of someone else unless you’ve paid them for it. We become independent problem solvers, hunting and cooking the spoils of our own endeavours. It feels safe to be like this, reliant on no-one else. Perhaps this describes you?
Some of us have evolved into pack animals, realising that being part of a pack can help
establish powerful, business-focused connections through networks where we feel connected.
Networking is a valuable skill that requires tenacity and resilience. It’s a way to grow our
financial capital.
However, in addition to relying solely on networks, I also believe in community environments.
These are places where our true selves are seen and understood. After all, I believe that
business is personal. Whether I’m at my best or in a cautious, reflective mood, I am known for
who I am, and I don’t feel judged. My emotional intelligence is valued as much as my expertise and business acumen. In a community, I can build my social capital, reputation, and my true
identity is not hidden behind a mask. Using the wolf metaphor, I am part of a Super Pack. I am
no longer alone, solely focused on hunting; I support others, and they support me.
Within a Super Pack, I can engage in deep conversations, create deep connections. I feel
significant, able to contribute to others while also showing vulnerability to receive contributions. I
feel safe, able to be my whole self. I can grow and sometimes even heal. I can take risks and
innovate. I learn from others, and they learn from me. Together, within the Super Pack, the
community rises.
We have come a long way since Maggie Thatcher told us that personal wealth was all that
mattered (that’s my take on growing up and being influenced by that political scene). As I’m sure
you also witness, we are all striving for a more compassionate world, where we judge ourselves
and others based on more than just financial wealth.
As an entrepreneur and business owner, I always embed my personal values into everything I
do. I’m not alone in this; I’m sure you do too. It’s great to connect with others who are on the
path to becoming a ‘super pack wolf’.
I hope you also resonate with this idea and can manifest your Super Pack, nurturing everyone’s
dreams and desires, hunting for more than just the kill in life.
Wishing you a super week, and once again, thank you for allowing me into your life today.
With love
