Breaking Down a Business Proposal : A Gentle Rant”

Reading Time: 5 minutes

Today’s entry was the result of yesterday’s diary about intelligence. The Power Of Natural Intelligence- With Rosie Tomkins, via in ‘The Light – Growing your soul’.  I saw someone had responded to it. Their approach was somewhat unusual.

Here it is

Hey In The Light-Growing Your Soul

I know this is kind of unexpected. I am reaching out (to) you, not just as someone offering a service, but as someone who genuinely believes in the potential of your Rumble channel. There’s a voice behind your content, a mission behind your message, and an audience out there waiting to connect with it. But without visibility, even the most powerful voices can go unheard.

That’s why I’m here. My job isn’t just to promote. It’s to help creators like you get the popularity you’ve worked so hard for. I’ve seen too many talented streamers fade into the background, not because they lacked value – but because they lacked visibility. That doesn’t have to be your story. Your channel deserves to grow. Your message deserves to reach thousands. And your brand deserves to rise.

This isn’t just promotion. It’s positioning. It’s purpose. It’s growth. If this is still on your mind, don’t wait, there’s no better time than right now. I’m just a message away! EMAIL: ********  Telegram:

I wrote to him:

Here are my immediate reactions.

Greetings,    I, like you, offer my services to people with varying results which we can discuss at some point.

# A comment on your selling message – the way that it is sent and indeed the way it is received is partly a cultural thing. In America and elsewhere it would be not considered anything special but in the United Kingdom it would be seen as possibly a bit up front, something that was not asked for.

# I’m not sure about the initial appellation  ‘Hey In The Light-Growing Your Soul’

It’s very much like you write to lots of people and you’ve cut and pasted in this particular organization . If I were you – and I am not of course – I would take the trouble to find out the name of the person and address them by their first name or possibly their first name and family name. The interviewer is Ana Isabel. She has currently 59 followers so, plenty of room for growth.

# I think you need to establish yourself before making any offers because you could be anybody ‘jumping in from nowhere’. You could have said for example ‘I have specialized for the last 10 years in helping small businesses to grow’, and possibly give a couple of examples

The world is not overflowing with trust so assume people will be more suspicious than welcoming even though you may be offering the best thing since sliced bread

# Also you are a bit preachy i.e. I know better than you and I am going to help you.  If there is humility it does not come across.

There’s a voice behind your content, a mission behind your message, and an audience out there waiting to connect with it.

# I find that a bit formulaic though it may be true, I don’t think the voice of the speaker or the interviewer is anything other than homegrown, without affectation, plenty of heart and maybe you give the timbre of the voices more gravitas than it actually has.

I totally agree with you about the lack of visibility being the prime reason, or certainly an important one, for lack of progress in the market.   When you talk about ‘your channel’ I assume you mean the lady who’s running the channel not the interviewee. I find Ana, who runs the channel is not my style – too self conscious – and I do not empathize with her on the spot,  but in so far as she has something of value to share I would support her as I support everyone.

# As a general rule there has to be an implication in their message of the potential client that they need help otherwise you could be accused of stepping in when you’re not wanted. (repetition but I need to say it twice)

# I realize I do the same thing myself so what I do is I’m very casual and informal in the first instance and don’t give the potential client or colleague the feeling that they’re being corralled or pressured in any way because people won’t stand for that. I would ask a question – how do you feel your message is getting across?’

# I would have been inclined to put for example ‘if you feel the need for more promotion and would like to have a general no obligation chat then feel free to get in touch’

# Most people in such situations have an ego investment so the implication that they’re not doing things right, even if they are not, will not go down too well.

# Incidentally when I click your photograph on your telegram link there are no videos which seems to imply you are a newcomer to the field so maybe making a video or two just so people can hear your voice would ease the introduction before you even speak with them.

# Remember that the average person running a channel receives many emails a day and it doesn’t help if you write in long paragraphs because people just won’t go through it.

# I like your short sentences but more fresh air would increase readability. More leading helps when you are permitted.

So, everyone to their own. I’m just throwing in a few reactions. It is in the psychology of most Brits not to take the initiative and either ignore, or move on, or swallow any feelings.

We all have a divine destiny so good luck and good focus on finding your own.
