Time and energy management – Visit to Westbury

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Romans 12:2: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Prior to writing this I have just been watching Russell Grant and Tommy Robinson talking about the Muslimification of this country, ‘Great’ Britain. It really is worth the 15-minute viewing here on Rumble.

I try to keep some semblance of sanity in my life, but every morning I wake up thinking of a dozen things I could do such as educating myself, spreading the word, looking after things in the home, making inroads into the books that I have such an interest in, and keeping my financial situation in good order.

I tend to jump from one thing to another and do things immediately when I get inspired. This is a mixed blessing because, for example, I find it difficult to read for more than 20 minutes without getting up and doing something else, and this is irrespective of the interesting nature of the book.

One thing I have learned is to vary my day. Today was a good example. After having finished office work this morning and having lunch, I decided to go and visit my chosen area of writing my historical Doomsday Book a record of what is going on in Priddy, Western-sub-Mendip, and Easton.

The Churchyard in St. Lawrence’s Church, Westbury-sub-Mendip. It was built in the 12th Century and is Grade II listed

We visited these three places and I’ve got enough contacts from just a few hours to almost fill the book.

Domestically I have a lot of things that I am putting off and putting off such as cleaning out my office, my garden shed and going through old files and throwing away those that are no longer required.

I am meticulous with my accounting , not that there is that much of it. But I make sure that my bank account is reconciled with my accounts software on a daily basis. If there is a mistake with a bank, the sooner you reach out, the better, so I may be an anal-retentive person, but I like to be right to the penny.

Someone said to me once there are things that are important and urgent, urgent only, unimportant, or important but can wait.

I try to organize myself, mostly unsuccessfully, to get the balance right. After a certain time I do turn off the computer, and if I then think of something that needs doing, I make a note of it and do it the next morning. No one is going to die because it does not get done immediately.

As regards holidays, I find I’m very happy with breaks of three to four days, and then I have the urge to get back to the office. The idea of long holidays sitting on a beach in the sun and drinking too much does not appeal, but neither does air travel in any way, manner, shape, or form.

I’ve had enough, and I think England has enough to offer, frankly.

We would love to hear from you...
