Why Critical Thinking Is Disappearing – The Rise of Collective Stupidity

Reading Time: 2 minutes

This is a real blinder for me. It is why I value what are alas occasional conversations with someone who really listens to what I have to say and vice versa, where we actually move forward in our understanding.

Everyone feels they have to defend a position but if we are all learning what’s the matter with admitting that we don’t understand something.

I believe we only know what we know unless we tell somebody. The vast majority of the content of our mind is undigested food just waiting for someone else to come along and shall we say chew the cud.

I have often said that if you gave away every single thing you knew, every bit of knowledge and wisdom, you would be wiser at the end because the brain will have been given the chance to create more neural connections and thus learn as it goes.

What is the hurry? Why do we have to always get onto the next thing?

Can we not learn from civilizations who do not value time scheduling above anything else and who sit and talk for hours and hours because they realize that the most important thing is looking after each other and that includes  spiritual development.

Our government – and I’m talking about the UK – do not want us to think.

Yesterday Sunday the 10th of August 2025 they arrested over 500 people merely for standing up for Palestinian rights because the latest legislation has designated such campaigns as equivalent to becoming a terrorist. This can apply to an 85-year-old man who is just standing up for the right to speak.

If what the government does is true and right  what is the harm in having a Socratic dialogue?

We are in evil times and I don’t know where to turn for light. Is nothing good going on? Try this for size.

Who Is COLLAPSING THE UK & WHY? LEADER of The Constitution Society Graham Moore

Graham Moore, ECS President,  A politician who is speaking the truth about our history. If this does not rewrite your thinking about everything political I dont know what will. Interviewer Shaun Attwood.

Anyway that’s enough tub thumping for now.
