Anyway this has nothing to do with my visit to Dr Kam in North Bristol.

So I visited for the second time doctor Kam who is an Indian who has an intuitive understanding of the body i.e. that it’s actually a living thing and not a piece of meat. In his first session last week he gave me 20 minutes of acupuncture and about half an hour of massage. As I felt I needed more, I arranged to visit him in his family home in North Bristol.

I was not particularly looking forward to it by public transport. The 172 bus takes just over the hour and then you have to catch another half hourly bus from the centre that takes 40 minutes so I decided to take the car. After having lived in a small town for 12 years I get somewhat nervous with the hustle and bustle of a big city and Bristol is no exception for this.

When I go to London it takes me about a couple of days to get used to the way things are. On the way I decided to visit IKEA. I forgot about the school holidays. There were long queues in the restaurant for pretty much everything. Admittedly the prices are good but I found the crowds quite overwhelming.

IKEA is designed so it’s easy to get in but not easy to find your way out. The whole thing is on two floors and once you start walking is very easy to lose your  sense of direction.

The car park is huge but I found that every single space was taken and I had to drive around two or three times watching out for someone leaving.

At the entrance they have extended the fast food element and again there were queues of amply proportioned people waiting for their fix of calories. This will be my last visit to IKEA for some time, I think it’s become too big for its own good.

I decided to escape and arrived at the doctors in time for my 12 30 appointment. I have more confidence in practitioners from the Far East because their traditions are so different, respecting the body as a spiritual entity and identifying with the patient that they treat.

Dr Kam has no notebooks and carries everything around in his head. He asked me what I wanted and I said that as soon as  he started he would know what to do and that proved to be the case.

I have the same sort of memory in that during my time I’ve done hundreds of gardens both in London and locally and as soon as I step in the garden I remember exactly what I did and why, any problems I had, and how I overcame them.

It’s a complete reliving of the event pain and all. If you were to give me the address or the name of the person this recall would not function.

Dr Kam has the uncanny knack of finding the biggest blocks first and working on them enthusiastically. I tell him to ignore my sounds of pain and he did with good enthusiasm. He is very proud of his work but strangely only asks for a donation. If it works for him…..

On the way in to his rooms I met a departing couple and he told me proudly that a year ago the wife could not walk but now she can walk and he beamed with pride when he said this.

My intuition is that I need four more meetings at quite close intervals as I have not been treated properly for years now so in me there’s a lot of locked up energy, as he said ‘a lot of things going on’ or in my case not going on.

Off home by car. I cannot resist cheap petrol stations for example 95 octane was 133 pence at a garage on the way out but of course I spoil this by having a  coffee and wiping out all the financial benefit if indeed there was any benefit at all.

My new site is doing well, the community one. I’ve taken to writing a developer’s page because no sites are perfect when they start so I write down any faults and show that I have addressed them. I like to deal with faults the same day if not the same hour.

Subscriptions are coming in at a slow rate but it is the height of the holiday season and I think we will see an upturn in September. I love making new websites. I know that WordPress is not the most sophisticated in the whole world but it’s very easy to use, and with its numerous plugins you can do most things.

There are about 90,000 free and premium WP plug-ins so most things are covered.  I found a plug in that tells you how long the site has been running for. See the site here

We would love to hear from you...
